UNFOLD
A NEW PERSPECTIVE CELEBRATING TRANSPARENCY AND EXPERTISE
Longchamp launched Unfold in 2023 to provide greater transparency about the journey its pieces take. Through this structure-giving and sustainability-oriented programme, the Maison offers access to clear and concrete information on the different stages of production, from sourcing raw materials to manufacturing. This global approach aims to celebrate the skills and expertise of Longchamp and its partners.
Designed to evolve, Unfold has been rolled out gradually across a number of categories, including ready-to-wear and bags, and now extends to small leather goods and belts. 2026 will see a growing number of items added to the scheme.
Underpinning the programme is one key notion: offering accessible, transparent and useful information. Every item in the programme comes with a QR code, via which customers can access – in just a few seconds – a page dedicated to retracing its steps. Here, they can learn about the origin of its raw materials and any production sites involved. Not only does this offer a better understanding about the components of a piece, but it also shines a light on the expertise that brought it to life.
For example, the leather of a Le Roseau bag comes from a farm in Italy, where it’s tanned and dyed before being transported to France. Assembly and quality checks are then carried out there in the Longchamp workshops. This information is also available on the website, via the “Traceability” section on each product page, as an extension of the experience, both in boutiques and online.
